Welcome to my website! I am on a mission to help desk workers have healthier bodies and more positive mindsets. Sedentary lifestyles and chronic stress can be detrimental to our health, commonly resulting in musculoskeletal pain, muscle tension, fatigue, and increased risk for chronic health conditions. People can easily get information and tips to help them understand the importance of healthy living and ways to do so but often have difficulty getting started and staying committed with their efforts. I am an accountability partner to support desk workers through their health journey via 1:1 and group online health coaching sessions. The 1:1 health coaching sessions focus on what the client wants to achieve and at their pace. I also educate the public about healthy habits via live webinars in order to help decrease the incidence of chronic conditions in our communities.

My Health Coaching Journey

I would like to share my journey in becoming a certified health coach. I am a licensed physical therapist in North Carolina and have 15 years of outpatient orthopedic experience. I transitioned to remote work in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic screening and enrolling participants for clinical trials and helping individuals with chronic disease locate specialists who offer advanced treatment options. In 2023, I became interested in learning more about motivational interviewing which helps clinicians avoid burnout and helps improve patient engagement in managing their own health. I then learned about health coaching and the importance of acknowledging an individual’s readiness for change and helping them improve their self- efficacy at their own pace. This supportive role as a clinician and serving as an accountability partner was very exciting to me!

I began taking continued education courses related to health coaching and telehealth. I completed the Medbridge Certificate Programs titled “Motivational Interviewing for the Modern Clinician” and “Telehealth: Comprehensive Virtual Care” in the Fall of 2023. I learned how to guide individuals during a conversation to show them that they have the ability to decide what is best for their lives and are the experts on how to best implement change in their lives based on their circumstances. I was so enlightened by the concept of motivational interviewing and learned how to enhance the partnership between myself and the clients I assist. Becoming more knowledgeable about best practices when doing telehealth allows me to skillfully provide more convenience and access to care for my clients.

After completing these Medbridge continuing education programs, I became interested in becoming a certified health coach and starting my own online health coaching business. I began studying evidence-based health coaching in 2024 and became a Certified Health Coach (CHC) via the National Society of Health Coaches in January 2025. I have made significant positive changes in my own life and have also helped my immediate family and loved ones with my health coaching skills. I am passionate about specifically helping desk workers who struggle with living an active lifestyle and coping with the stress of working long hours at their workstation. As a remote worker since 2020, I empathize with those who work at home; I understand the importance of self-discipline when trying to live healthy as a remote desk worker. My ergonomics training also allows me to educate my clients on how to improve the setup of their desk, chair, computer monitor(s), keyboard, mouse, and other accessories for improved comfort and productivity.

As the owner of Living Your Desk Life, LLC, I look forward to getting more desk workers out of their chairs and helping them thrive at work and outside of work. Do you get tired easily at work? Are you uncomfortable at your workstation? Do you have a hard time "turning work off" after your shift? I would love to share some tips to give you a boost and encourage you along your journey for self-improvement.

Let's get moving and take great care of our minds and bodies!!!
